Uiltje Oak 33cl can is built on a simple yet characterful malt base featuring Best Ale Malt, Dark Munich Malt, and Extra Light Crystal. This combination creates a light, grainy profile with deeper undertones from the Munich malt, while the crystal malt adds a subtle sweet note. On the hop side, Centennial and East Kent Golding are used, complemented by French Oak, which adds an extra layer of nuance during brewing. According to the official ingredient list, the beer also consists of water, barley malt, hops, and yeast. This makes the brewing process straightforward and direct: the ingredients are combined without additives so that their own characteristics form the basis of the final profile. It’s all about the balance between the light, no-nonsense malt base and the hops that provide freshness and aromatic variety.
The flavor of Uiltje Oak 33cl can clearly demonstrate how this combination comes together. The Best Ale Malt keeps the whole profile smooth, while Dark Munich Malt adds some extra depth and Extra Light Crystal provides a soft, sweet edge. The hops play their own role on top of that foundation. Centennial brings a fresh bitterness, while East Kent Golding leans more toward soft, earthy notes. The use of French Oak adds small, subtle accents that are primarily noticeable as nuances without making the beer overly woody. The result is a carefully crafted flavor profile in which each component remains recognizable and can be fully traced back to the ingredients used. This keeps the beer clear, accessible, and quintessentially Uiltje character.
