Pair beers with the tastiest Easter dishes

Easter 2022 is just around the corner, a wonderful day full of coziness that becomes even more special with Uiltje . This year we can once again enjoy the most delicious dishes, the spring sun and the coziness that Easter brings. To be able to put the perfect taste experience on the table this Easter weekend, we have listed a number of tips for you below. Do you Dare?

Say Easter, you say chocolate. Since the 18th century, the two have been inextricably linked when the chocolate egg was invented in Paris. Since then, the tradition has been an integral part of our society. But which beer will give you the best taste experience when you eat another Easter egg this Easter? Chocolate and dark beers go very well together, in addition, barley wines also provide a perfect harmony of flavors! Our favorites are: LaTrappe Quadrupel and St. Bernardus Abt 12.

After all the Easter eggs are found and the table is nicely set, it's time for the appetizers. If you choose to serve a savory pie on the table, you can create a nice flavor balance by pairing this dish with a dark or stout blonde beer. This combination is perfect for bringing out the fresh spring flavors of the appetizer. A savory pie can be heavy on the stomach, the carbonation in these beers can help alleviate this. Putting a beer that is not too sweet on the table creates a nice unity of flavors. We recommend the Cornet Oaked and the Brugge Tripel for this combination.

Is a savory pie not quite your thing and you still prefer a dish with lamb? The hearty taste of lamb comes into its own with a spicy and hearty counterpoint. Then we quickly arrive at the tripels and powerful blond beers! This way a nice bittersweet balance is created. If you are going to serve lamb this Easter, serve an Omer Vander Ghinste Omer Blond or a Saison Dupont Biologique with it for the best taste experience!

Wouldn't you rather put a delicious ragout on the table? The soft and spicy meat of ragout gets a perfect flavor harmony with beers with a spicy and nice bittersweet balance. But beers with a nice hop bitterness also do well with ragout. Our serving tips are the DAVO Café Racer and the Omer Vander GhinsteLeFort Tripel.

Finally, of course, asparagus should not be missing from this list. The white gold of the Netherlands has a short season which starts around Easter time. This makes the two an unmistakable combination for many people. It doesn't get any more classic than asparagus á la Flamande (with egg, ham and butter sauce). That cries out for a saison! No à la Flamande? Then white beers are ideal, because of their light, fresh and spicy flavor palette. The best taste experience can be had with St. Bernardus Wit or La Trappe Witte Trappist.

Thus, this year's Easter will be unforgettable again. Do you dare?
