Uiltje #RoastMe can 33cl
Good things happen when The Bastard x Uiltje come together. Our brews do well by the coals, but also win big awards (Dutch Beer Challenge - Best IPA - Craftbeer Cookout). So we enter this new collab with high expectations and two iconic hops. But it's our double bet on the malts that make this Black IPA so complex and weird. Blueberry and peach, lime grass and pine needles, fresh herbs and resin, with enough dankness to win the hearts of the India Pale Ale masses. This is a barbie ale, buddies. Roast on!
- Are you up for this beer? Blueberry and peach, lemongrass and pine needles, fresh herbs and resin
- Absolutely delicious with: Grilled beef and pork from the BBQ!
- The greatest explosion of flavor at: 3-6 degrees Celsius
▶ Learn more about the Uiltje 33cl can …
Uiltje 33cl can is built on a robust malt base featuring Best Ale Malt, Munich Malt, Dark Munich, Flaked Oats, Brown Malt, Low Colour Chocolate Malt, and Carafa Type III. This combination creates a dark, layered malt profile that highlights both roasted and light grain notes. The hop profile is kept simple with Mosaic and Centennial, two hop varieties that provide a fresh bitterness and a subtle layer of aroma during brewing. According to the official ingredient list, the beer also consists of water, barley malt, oats, hops, and yeast. No additional additives—just the base that can be traced directly back to the listed ingredients. This keeps the brewing process straightforward and focuses primarily on how the different malt varieties complement each other.
In terms of flavor, Uiltje (33cl can) showcases how the roasted malts set the tone. Brown Malt, Low Colour Chocolate Malt, and Carafa Type III give the beer deep, roasted notes, while Munich and Dark Munich add extra body and bread-like layers. The Flaked Oats make the texture a bit rounder and softer. Mosaic and Centennial bring a fresh hop bitterness that supports the malt profile without disrupting it. Everything remains in balance: a distinctly malt-forward beer in which every flavor stems from the ingredients used and the brewing process itself. The result is a clearly structured interpretation of a dark, robust brew in which malts take center stage.
